Setting the Scene
Our client is a major Queensland Government organisation undergoing significant digital transformation, expanding its use of Microsoft Power Platform and AI capabilities across the enterprise. Due to the growth of their AI capability, they are seeking an experienced Copilot Studio Technical SME / Senior Developer Lead to join the team on a 6-month contract, helping to establish, scale and operationalise Microsoft Copilot Studio Agent delivery as a core enterprise capability.
The Role
Working as a Technical SME embedded within the Power Platform team, you will provide technical leadership, hands-on delivery capability and strategic guidance to support the organisation’s AI maturity journey.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deploy Microsoft Copilot Studio Agents within an enterprise environment
- Lead conversational design, prompt engineering and AI solution patterns
- Configure knowledge sources, integrations and orchestration capabilities for AI Agents
- Develop reusable frameworks, standards and reference architectures for Copilot Studio delivery
- Support the transition of AI solutions from proof-of-concept through to production-ready enterprise services
- Establish governance practices around AI Agents, including data access controls, monitoring, compliance and responsible AI principles
- Work closely with Architects, Security teams and governance stakeholders to ensure solutions align with enterprise security requirements
- Support Power Platform ALM practices, solution management and DevOps processes
- Provide technical assurance across internally and vendor-delivered Copilot Studio solutions
- Mentor and uplift internal teams across Copilot Studio development, AI design patterns and optimisation techniques
- Identify opportunities to improve adoption, scalability and operational support models
What you'll bring - Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering Microsoft Copilot Studio Agent solutions in enterprise environments
- Strong experience across Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse
- Experience designing AI Agents, conversational experiences, knowledge integrations and prompt strategies
- Experience with enterprise deployment, governance and lifecycle management of Power Platform solutions
- Strong understanding of DevOps and ALM practices for Power Platform solutions
- Experience integrating enterprise systems through APIs, connectors and automation workflows
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into scalable solutions
- Experience mentoring developers and uplifting capability within technical teams
