Hey there, Cyber Sales Pros. Let’s talk pen testing. Real, technical offensive security sales, not vague cyber or generic IT.
This full-time Cyber Sales Specialist role (or Cyber BDM / Account Manager – call it what you like) offers a chance to join a tight-knit, senior-led team with serious technical chops in pen testing, red teaming, and cloud security. Think boutique, not “big”.
You’ll be the go-to person for opening doors, shaping conversations, and closing deals across a broad client base straddling industries like education, finance, government, healthcare, tech, and more. Most deals close quickly within the month, however some can take up to 3-months. The good news is that most clients come back year on year.
This role is 100% WFH anywhere on Australia’s East Coast, and you’ll work closely with a Commercial Manager, and technical pen testing consultants who back you up every step of the way – no solo guessing games on scope or technical specs, or trying to explain the merits or SSRF.
What’s In It For You? - We could just say around $140k base salary + 10% commission and call it a day, but truth is, if you’re a gun, those numbers are up for discussion. No cap on commission either. Sell well, earn well. Let’s discuss.
- Work with one of Australia’s most respected offensive security teams: the consultants are all senior, all highly certified. Several have military, federal law enforcement, or elite research backgrounds. One uncovered a Skype 0-day, back in the day. Another’s a lead plugin author for the Nmap project. One can hack security cameras with a t-shirt. These folks aren’t just “familiar with OWASP” – they write tools, speak at cons, and trained at Black Hat.
- The tech will always be in the room with you. You lead the sales process while experts handle scoping and technical questions, so you focus on relationship-building and closing.
- Client-first culture: Free retesting. No upsells. No product pushing. Even the offer of refunds (that’s how confident this mob is of their work). The deliver honest, best-practice security advice and high-impact testing.
- The freedom to build your own pipeline – wave goodbye to territory guardrails or being told “hey, that’s my patch!”
- 100% WFH literally anywhere on Australia's East Coast - Brissy, Sydney, Melbourne, and anywhere in between. You'll be treated like an adult, and not shackled to a desk.
What Do You Need To Bring? You’re not just any cyber sales rep – you’ve sold penetration testing services before. That’s a must. If you haven’t, this role isn’t for you, unfortunately. What type of pen testing? Any, as this boutique does the lot – web, mobile, infra, wireless, SCADA, embedded devices, etc., etc.
You’ll also bring:
- Proven background in prospecting, qualifying, and closing deals in cyber security services.
- Confidence engaging with CISOs, CTOs, and security decision-makers: commercial savvy meets technical curiosity.
- A willingness to work with and learn from technical consultants during sales cycles.
- A strong black book of contacts (helpful, not deal-breaker).
- Self-motivation and a hunger to build and own your pipeline from scratch. This isn’t an automated, en masse, email warrior role – it’s for someone to build genuine relationships and solve problems.
What Will You Be Doing? Typical days don’t exist here, but you’ll probably:
- Reach out, nurture warm leads, and qualify new prospects across various sectors.
- Lead sales meetings alongside technical consultants who help scope the work and answer detailed technical questions.
- Write proposals, negotiate deals, and close contracts with clients.
- Manage your pipeline in Salesforce and forecast revenue.
- Collaborate with project managers and consultants to ensure smooth client onboarding and delivery.
The Reality Of This Role… This isn’t selling “cyber buzzwords” or relying on flashy marketing. You’re selling
real technical services delivered by experts who take pride in what they do.
If you want a role where your sales skills meet real technical ability – where your commission is uncapped and your efforts rewarded – this could be it.
