We’re seeking an experienced
Information Protection Engineer to lead the implementation and uplift of Microsoft Purview across a large organisation.
This is a hands-on role within an established cyber security team, supported by a Business Analyst and Change Manager. The initial focus will be on Purview, sensitivity labelling, DLP and information protection, with 60–70% hands-on engineering.
What you'll do - Configure and operationalise Microsoft Purview
- Implement sensitivity labels, auto-labelling and DLP
- Develop Sensitive Information Types
- Extend information protection across Microsoft 365, endpoints, cloud and SaaS
- Work with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Configure retention, records management and data lifecycle controls
- Support Copilot information protection and governance
- Tune policies, investigate alerts and improve controls
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
What we're looking for - Proven enterprise experience implementing Microsoft Purview
- Strong expertise in Sensitivity Labels, DLP and Sensitive Information Types
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Broader Microsoft security knowledge; Sentinel exposure is advantageous
- Understanding of privacy, compliance, records management and governance
- Experience in large or regulated environments
- Ability to lead a technical workstream independently
Queensland Government, IS18 or QGEA experience is advantageous, as are
SC-400 or SC-100 certifications.
