SASE Security Architect / Advisor Contract: 6 Months + 6 Months (12-month program)
Rate: $1,000 - $1,150 per day (inc. super)
Clearance: NV1 – mandatory
Location: Sydney preferred | Canberra considered | Open to other cities
The Opportunity We’re supporting a high-profile, enterprise-wide network and security transformation - the largest uplift of its kind in over a decade.
This program will fundamentally redesign how the organisation secures remote access. Transitioning from a legacy internet gateway to a
modern, cloud-based SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) platform. This role is suited to someone who has
experience delivering SASE implementations and can bridge strategy, architecture, and execution.
The Role - 50% architecture / 50% advisory
- First 6 months focused on discovery, validation and planning
- Clear intent to move straight into delivery and execution post-discovery
Key Responsibilities - Lead SASE discovery, validation and solution planning
- Define high-level target architecture across network and security domains
- Advise on SASE solution selection (vendor-agnostic)
- Support and prepare artefacts for IRAP assessment
- Ensure alignment with PSPF, Essential Eight, and government standards
- Clearly articulate benefits, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders
Experience Required: - Proven SASE implementation experience (not purely advisory)
- Strong knowledge across SWG, Protected DNS, SD-WAN and Zero Trust principles
- Solid experience with PSPF, Essential Eight and IRAP processes
- Strong security and network fundamentals
- NV1 clearance (mandatory)
