We’re partnering with one of Australia’s largest and most respected cyber security organisations to find a Technical Lead for their Managed Security Engineering (MSE) team in Perth.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you’ll be working closely with a small number of key clients, helping with everything from firewall management and network security through to architecture-level guidance.
Think less ticket queue, more trusted advisor.

What You’ll Be Doing - Providing L4 support and subject matter expertise across complex infrastructure firewalls, networking, cloud, and security platforms
- Working closely with 1–2 key clients as their go-to technical resource, building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
- Driving migration of MSS workloads from legacy environments into their future state
- Owning and managing MSE toolsets (Azure, PRTG, Auvik, etc.)
- Designing, implementing, and administering infrastructure across multiple technology platforms
- Mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers within the team
- Developing and maintaining scripts, automation routines, and process improvements
- Following and enforcing ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes
What You’ll Bring - Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet – this is a must
- Experience with Netscope and ideally Palo Alto
- At least 5 years in IT engineering, operations, or a similar field
- Solid understanding of firewalls, network security, and security architecture
- Experience across cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ITIL Foundation qualification (or equivalent understanding)
- Relevant vendor certifications are highly regarded (PCNSE, CCNP, CCIE, Azure certs, Splunk, RHCE)
- Due to the nature of the work, this role is open to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents only
The Details - Permanent role based in Perth CBD
- Salary up to $165,000 base + superannuation
- On-site 2–3 days per week (client site or company office)
- Report to the Technical Services Manager
- Work with some of the brightest minds in Australian cybersecurity
