V&V Engineering Lead | Melbourne CBD

Here's the reality for some senior V&V engineers right now:

You're executing someone else's test plan. Your RTVMs disappear into a vault. You've got six layers of approval before anything changes. And the product you're validating? You have no idea if it actually matters.

This is the opposite of that.

WHAT'S ACTUALLY ON OFFER

An established Melbourne cybersecurity company with niche products for government and defence clients needs a V&V Engineering Lead to own its V&V program.

Not contribute to it. Own it.

This is a newly created role; you'll be shaping what good V&V looks like at this company, not inheriting someone else's way of doing things.

You'll build the test program, produce the CDRLs, manage the RTVMs, and work directly with the engineering teams building the products. No test factory. No hand-holding. No waiting six months to find out if your work mattered.

Tight team. Real accountability. Products that protect critical national infrastructure.

YOU'LL BE DOING THIS:

• Own the end-to-end V&V program across active projects
• Generate CDRLs, formal engineering deliverables, not test reports
• Build and manage RTVMs from scratch
• Work directly with software and systems engineers to resolve issues
• Drive automation and process improvement where it actually helps
• Flag risks early and have the authority to do something about them

YOU NEED TO BRING THIS:

• 10+ years in complex systems testing, telecoms, defence, software
• Genuine V&V experience, not QA rebranded as V&V
• RTVM and CDRL chops, you've done this, not just heard of it
• Networking, distributed computing, security and encryption fundamentals
• Strong documentation discipline, your outputs go to clients and the government
• Australian citizenship, Security clearance eligibility is non-negotiable
